Cruz del Vado

Boutique Hotel Cruz del Vado is the third hotel of the new Ecuadorian luxury hotel chain Art Hotels Ecuador. In May 2019 I stayed a few nights in this beautiful hotel. I was personally received by the manager, because the hotel had just opened its doors that day. I had the honour to be their first guest!

The hotel sets a new standard for luxury hotels in Cuenca. According to the Art Hotels philosophy, this accommodation is small-scale and located in a historic building on the edge of the colonial center of the city. The rooms have a nice mix of historic elements with modern comfort. The 4 suites at the front of the hotel also have a jacuzzi and access to the balcony. A small detail that makes me very happy: every room has a good coffee machine with freshly ground coffee. For coffee drinkers a pleasure to be able to drink the first cup in the morning in the room.

The restaurant is located on the top floor where breakfast and dinner are served. In good weather it is also possible to have breakfast on the terrace, from where you have a beautiful view over the modern city of Cuenca.

Art Hotels Ecuador is a family business with luxury boutique hotels. The hotels are small-scale, each hotel contains no more than thirty rooms.
