Cultura Manor
Boutique Hotel Cultura Manor is a beautiful hotel in a historic colonial house in the modern La Mariscal district. A haven of peace in the city. In 1933 it was the home of the most prestigious elite club of Quito. The upper class met here to relax and discuss the future of the country. After five glorious decades, it slowly fell into oblivion and the beautiful building fell into disrepair. Until it was rescued seven years ago. After a thorough renovation with love for the historical details, the house now offers a very pleasant stay for its guests.
We were welcomed here by the owner László who gave us an extensive tour. All rooms are different and without exception very spacious. The bathrooms are huge and the whole house has a warm appearance with wall paintings reminiscent of the frescoes in Italy. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room inside or on one of the sheltered terraces outside.
We stayed in the Athena Suite. The beds sleep very well (László said that the mattresses were specially designed for the hotel) and the extensive breakfast is served at the table in the morning. You can also have dinner at this hotel, but only if you indicate this in advance. The cook will then prepare a special meal for you. In the hotel there is also a small cafeteria where the barista serves delicious cappuccinos and chocolate cakes. A “must try”!
