Explore and experience
You can visit the island of Bartolomé with a day trip from Santa Cruz or by expedition cruise. The island is known for its beautiful views and the waters around the island are fantastic for snorkelling.
Escalera
You arrive at Bartolomé with a dry landing from the zodiac. To protect nature, a beautiful wooden staircase has been constructed from the landing point that will lead you through the impressive landscape to the most iconic viewpoint of the Galápagos. This small island is in the middle of the archipelago and on a clear day more than ten islands can be seen from the top. Here it is also possible to spot the Galápagos hawk or a heron above you.
In front of you is the tuff cone called Pinnacle Rock, a large black, partially eroded, lava formation; the most emblematic formation of the archipelago. A small colony of penguins lives at the base of this rock together with sea lions and sea birds.
La Playa en Bartolomé Punta
In addition to the viewpoint, you will also visit the golden sandy beach at Bartolomé, from where you can enjoy fantastic snorkelling. At Bartolomé you may see penguins, sharks and rays and maybe a single young sea lion will invite you to play in the water.
