Contrary to other vessels listed on our website, Windrose is not a vessel for multi-day expedition cruises. She is a high-speed motor yacht used for day trips starting from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz island. However, we have decided to list her here because she is absolutely worth your special attention for many reasons.
If you are not keen on spending the night on a yacht, if you prefer to sleep in a comfortable luxury hotel, choose your own restaurants in the evenings and have a day or two to yourself during your holiday, the choice of Island Hopping might be more suitable for you than an expedition cruise. In that case, Windrose is by far your best choice.
It is all about comfort, speed and experience
Windrose combines the luxury and comfort you will find on a first-class expedition cruise with an unmatched day-tour itinerary. Windrose offers several beautiful lounging areas (inside and outside), a fully equipped luxury bathroom and even a bedroom if you would prefer to take a short nap during transit. Full meals and snacks are prepared and served on-board. You will receive a 3-course menu with vegetarian options and the chef will even cater for special dietary requirements. Water, coffee and tea are complimentary and the friendly crew will be pleased to serve a variety of beverages from the bar. For comparison, other day-tour vessels do not have lounge areas, no space to shower nor change and provide pre-packed sandwiches and a juice for lunch.
Apart from the luxurious comfort, this state-of-the-art Sunseeker Manhattan 74-foot (23 meter) cruiser is much faster than any other day vessel. At a top speed of 34 knots she is able to cover further distance in a shorter space of time. As the operator says: “Get up later in the morning, spend less time in transit and get to the iconic visitor sites before most other yachts. You spend more time discovering, learning and enjoying: what Galapagos travel was meant to be.” Windrose is the only day-tour vessel that allows you to visit two iconic sites in the vicinity of Santa Cruz, instead of one, and still be home on time to sip a cocktail by the pool of your hotel. For example, she is the only one that can combine Plaza Sur and Santa Fe in one day.
